The Smart Urban Futures National Conference will be held in Melbourne on 22 and 23 March 2016.
Victoria Walks and MAV have announced a stellar line up of speakers for the conference. Two related events will be offered on 21 March – a masterclass in travel demand management and behaviour change; and a workshop on exercise and brain health, especially as we age.
Keynote speakers include:
- Dr Robert Sallis, Physician Spokesperson for the Every Body Walk! Campaign, a coalition of American organisations which recently led to the U.S. Surgeon General issuing a Call to Action to Promote Walking and Walkable Communities.
- Rose McArthur, Technical Director of Integrated Transport for Mott MacDonald, a global consultancy based in the UK. Rose helped deliver the travel demand management programs for the London 2012 Olympics and Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.
- Maria Vassilakou, Deputy Mayor of Vienna and Executive City Councillor for Urban Planning, Traffic & Transport, Climate Protection, Energy and Public Participation.
- Gyles Bendall, Urban Design Program Leader for Auckland Council.
