Vale Peter Bourke

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Peter Bourke who died on 25 June 2017.  He was a CRB/VicRoads traffic engineer and worked in Dandenong Division at Nunawading in the early 1970s along with many well known names such as Gary Veith and the late Trevor Miller.  Peter then worked at 60 Denmark Street and 89 High Street, where he was second in charge to Ian Mackintosh in the Traffic Data section, with staff including Dennis Moore, Geoff Elston, Tim Strickland, Lynette Wells, etc.  He moved in the mid 1980s to become the Principal Traffic Engineer at Adelaide City Council.

His family, David, Melissa, Karl and Indra, have let us know that Pete passed away comfortably in his sleep with his family around him.  He often said how happy he was with the full life he had lived, and he had no regrets.

As John Reid fondly remembers:  “RIP Bourkey you were one of the nice guys.”
