November Seminar: ITS, Wayfinding and Learnings from Toronto

Sam Linke, Manuel Lawrence and David Nash will be presenting on their exciting overseas trips to North America, Hong Kong and the ITE Annual Meeting in Toronto.

ITEANZ provided financial assistance for these study trips through the Worldwide Learning Opportunities program.

A range of topics will be covered, including ITS, pedestrian-orientated design, wayfinding and some snippets of recent developments in autonomous vehicles in the USA.

  • Sam will talk about City Making, Complete Streets, Autonomous Vehicles, Engaging Young Professionals and other things learnt in Toronto.
  • Manuel’s topic is ‘Smart technologies and planning for better cities – Learnings from Hong Kong’.  He will discuss transport technologies in cities and provide observations of transport planning initiatives in Hong Kong.
  • David will provide useful observations of pedestrian wayfinding signs in Australia and four North American cities, with learnings on how signage can be made more functional.  This topic will of particular interest to local government engineers, planners and urban designers.
