The speaker was Bonnie Coogan, Gender Equality Officer at Melton City Council.

Bonnie Coogan is a public health professional with a Bachelor of Health Sciences focused in Health Promotion & Physical Activity and Health from Deakin University. She is an experienced practitioner with a demonstrated history of working in the community health sector, primary care partnership sector and local government.

Bonnie talked about the Victorian Gender Equality Act which came into force in March 2021.  The City of Melton has undertaken 25 Gender Impact Assessments, one of which related to the walking and cycling plan.  Security and lighting were two of the common themes.
