ITEANZ Awards
The ITEANZ section awards a number of citations to individuals who have made a substantial contribution to the organisation or to the transportation planning and engineering profession generally. The awards are presented at the ITEANZ Presidents Dinner, which is our annual end of year event.
The awards, which are determined by sub-committees made up of ITEANZ executive board members and industry professionals, are described in more detail below:
- Contribution to the Transportation Profession Award (sub-committee chair:
Peter Hunkin)
This award is presented to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the development of the transport/traffic engineering profession over a sustained period. The award recipient does not have to be a member of ITE.

- Recognition of Outstanding Service to the ITE Award (sub-committee chair:
Andrew O'Brien)
This award is presented to individuals who have made a significant and valuable contribution to ITEANZ, by significantly advancing ITEANZ's mission, goals and/or charter, and providing a sustained effort over a number of years to the administration of ITEANZ. The award recipient must be an ITEANZ member.

ITEANZ awards a prize of $200 to the best
undergraduate transport student at participating Australian and New
Zealand universities. Winners of this award are invited to submit a
significant piece of work to ITEANZ for consideration in the Australian
and New Zealand Award. The winner of this award receives a plaque and
travel to Melbourne to attend the President's Dinner.

- Young Professional / Emerging Professional of the Year Award

Awarded to an individual who has made a valuable contribution the transport/traffic engineering profession, relative to their experience in their chosen field. The award recipient must be either a student, associate or full member of ITEANZ, and not be greater than
35 years of age (as at 31st December in the year that the award is presented).

As the title suggests, this award is presented to ITEANZ's Immediate Past President, in recognition of their contribution to the section as the leading figurehead.
